DFAT has recently released Australia’s First Nations International Engagement Strategy, which sets out four focus areas across Pacific partnerships, trade and investment, global First Nations rights and diplomacy, and DFAT capability.

AFNAD recently held a yarning session with members to discuss the Strategy, what it means for First Nations people working in international development, and how AFNAD might respond on behalf of its members.

We recognise that many members work with, or are funded through, DFAT and may not feel comfortable providing direct feedback with their name attached. To support honest and safe input, AFNAD is inviting members to share feedback through the survey on this page. Responses will then be reviewed by AFNAD and used to prepare consolidated feedback to DFAT’s Office for First Nations International Engagement (OFNIE).

No individual responses will be attributed. We ask that members also avoid including identifying details in their response if they wish to remain anonymous.
